We designed the Annesbrook Church and Community Centre 12 years ago incorporating a 700 seat Auditorium, Foyer, Halls, Kitchen and amenities. Over the years the style of “doing church” has changed which necessitated a major revamp of the Foyer. After services and functions those attending wanted to remain to chat and have coffee. This foyer was too small and didn’t have a café readily available.
The brief was to provide a Foyer with a Café that could cater for over 500 people standing, it needed to be a modern addition to give a contemporary look to the building, to help portray that “contemporary style” of the church that meets there. The extension had to have a light bright airy feel with indoor and outdoor areas, protected from the wind and facing the sun. The main Entrance was to a be a focal point welcoming people as they arrived.
