Hoar Beach House

This holiday home was designed for a gentle sloping site with breathtaking views.  The clients desired a modern feel with a little flair, while being casual, light and airy. The clients also like to entertain both indoors and outdoors. This contemporary design had to fit within a floor area of 110m². It needed to include three double bedrooms (including a Master with Ensuite), a second Bathroom and a Laundry.  The site is also near the sea, requiring particular discretion.

The house has been elevated to capture the sea view. The provision of the indoor/outdoor flow also enhances the views and the sun. Further, the Kitchen/Living area was laid out for both the view and conversation. Due to the space constraints, hallways were minimised, and the clients conceded that bedrooms could open directly from the Living area. As this was close to the beach, low maintenance materials were used.
