Harakeke - Designed by Mark Fielding
Styled after the early settler cottages of this region and clad in a prototype earth based stucco, this medium sized home features timber joinery and a replica styled kitchen and bathroom. Passive solar heating is achieved in the living room via the full height glazing which is projected out from the main wall, and also via the lounge ceiling being open to the central dormer. This opening between floors also allows warm air to rise and heat the upper storey.
